If you thought that we’d finally be leaving that watery, dreamy energy of yesterday’s New Moon/Eclipse in Pisces, think again! There is plenty of mystical Neptunian energy continuing to build this week along with some fiery Aries action to keep us all on our toes!
Monday (2/27): Today Mars is just barely coming off of it’s conjunction to Uranus in Aries as it moves into opposition with retrograde Jupiter in Libra— continuing to highlight the year-long Jupiter opposition to Uranus which comes exact for the second time later this week. In it’s more favorable expression, Mars in opposition to Jupiter can cause us to feel inspired to take action. We can feel more positively about ourselves as well as our ability to initiate necessary change. On the flip side, this transit may cause us to become overly optimistic about our options or cause us to take on more than we can handle. With the conjunction to Uranus still going strong, Mars can lead us to feel frustrated, desiring greater freedom and catalyzing change.
As the moon moves into Aries later tonight our emotions can lead us to act more impulsively than normal, especially with all of the Mars/Uranus/Jupiter energy being ignited right now. Now is an excellent time to begin seeding intentions and making plans, and some type of action is certainly necessary, but it is not advisable to dive in head-first into anything completely new. Give it a few days and make sure you can handle everything you’ve taken on before making your first move.
Tuesday (2/28): No major aspects today. The moon is waxing in Aries and the momentum is building.
Wednesday (3/1): The Sun in Pisces conjuncts Neptune today adding to the confusion and fog many have been experiencing over the course of this past week. While this transit can give our everyday reality an eerie, dreamy feeling and cause a lack of awareness of our immediate surroundings, the Sun’s conjunction to Neptune is excellent for increasing spiritual and intuitive awareness and connecting very deeply to those around us. This energy is excellent for visualization— envisioning and connecting emotionally to a desired future outcome can reap many benefits at this time. This is still an excellent time for dream work when our dreams and fantasies can become much more vivid and meaningful. Be sure to keep a dream journal this week if you aren’t already doing so! The symbols and themes that come up right now can give many clues to help unlock subconscious, emotional roadblocks.
While there is a lot of good that can be had from this energy, there is a danger of becoming overwhelmed by the energy and falling prey to escapism. Using and abusing drugs and alcohol is not advisable at this time and the repercussions of “numbing out” can be much heavier at this time, especially for those who are already quite sensitive.
Thursday (3/2): No major planetary aspects today. The moon is in its waxing crescent phase in the grounded & sensual sign of Taurus today.
The Crescent Moon phase is a time when the seeds planted at the time of the new moon first begin to sprout. This can be an exciting time of exploring new ideas. This is an ideal time to get out into the world to meet new people and test the waters by beginning to take action on your intentions. This is a very optimistic time when we anticipate the potential of the new plans and projects that are about to take form over the coming lunar month. This lunar phase is associated with the Triple Goddess in her maiden form, representing the energy of purity, growth, curiosity and the sprouting of new life.
While this aspect is technically exact tomorrow (at 1:23am MST), this is a very powerful long-term transit so I’m going to touch on it now. Retrograde Jupiter opposes Uranus in Aries today for the second of three passes of this transit. This transit brings powerful new insights, opportunities and shifts in consciousness on both an individual and collective level. With Jupiter in Libra the mix this transit may be related to opportunities for adventure, travel, or expansion of material wealth. In retrograde, Jupiter is more likely to be expanding on our inner world and our core philosophies and beliefs, which, in turn, may provide opportunity for powerful and unexpected change. There is a risk here of moving too far into the Jupiter side and becoming overly optimistic or placing too much emphasis on the needs of others, and, on the opposite end, there can be a risk of becoming overly headstrong and focused on individual freedom at the expense of our most important relationships. The key to this transit is integrating the two opposites to create a situation in which the change that occurs that serves our own individual expression while at the same time expanding on balance and harmony in our connections with others.
