Things start to calm down slightly at the start of this week with no planetary aspects during the dark phase of the moon; however, we aren’t completely out of the water just yet. We have vivacious New Moon in Gemini on Thursday all the while Venus in Aries makes a hard square to Pluto in Capricorn— adding a layer of depth, intensity, and potentially bringing some sort of emotional crisis involving power struggles, relationships or finances. After the New Moon, things will begin to settle down, especially as we move into June, but before that happens we will have one more difficult planetary aspect to deal with when Mars opposes Saturn on Monday (more on that next week). For now, my best advice for us all is to allow the energy of the dark moon to take over and simply surrender and let go of all the things that have been building in our lives in order to make space for all of the beauty we’re about to create this summer. ☺
Monday (5/22): No major planetary aspects. The Moon is becoming dark in fiery, willful Aries today. The waning, Dark Moon under the influence of Aries is always a strange energy as we are compelled toward both action and surrender. It can feel like this is the final push to get things done before the dark moon release, and in many ways that’s exactly what this is.
Tuesday (5/23): No major planetary aspects. The Moon is officially in its dark phase in Taurus as of 6:28am MST. The Dark Moon phase lasts roughly three days surrounding the time of the New Moon. This phase lunar cycle is a period of letting go of that which no longer serves us from the preceding lunar cycles. It is a time when the veil is quite thin and our connection to the other realms becomes much more potent. The Dark Moon is not an appropriate time to initiate new actions. For women in particular, now is a time when our physical energy is at it's lowest. It is powerful time when our psychic and intuitive abilities are heightened. Now is the time to go inward to surrender and reflect on the past while seeding intentions for the future.
Wednesday (5/24): No major planetary aspects. The Moon is still in its dark phase in Taurus and goes void-of-course at 11:57am MST in preparation for tomorrow’s New Moon.
Thursday (5/25): The New Moon in Gemini comes exact at 12:45pm MST, marking a perfect time for setting intentions related to communication, marketing, children, play, and all things social. There are no major planetary aspects to this New Moon, which allows the energy of the Sun & Moon in Gemini to express itself fully and clearly.
The moon’s transit through Gemini is a time of heightened emotional intelligence, making it one of the best times to socialize. Activities such as throwing parties, attending social events, sending cards, emails, and letters, connecting with old friends, and doing things that are spontaneous and playful are favored at this time. Movement is key, as curious Gemini likes to move quickly from one topic to the next. This moon placement also favors intellectual pursuits such as research, writing, journalism, and all other activities requiring us to think on our feet. The moon in Gemini is an excellent time to communicate creatively. It is also a time when our thoughts become more connected with our emotions, making it more difficult to discern between what we think and what we feel. Emotional bonds can be strengthened through communication making this is a great time to connect with people in the community, as well as siblings, cousins and extended family members. A family reunion planned during this time would go over quite well! Gemini is an air sign and its energy does tend to feel a bit scattered. For some, there is a danger of becoming flaky and manipulative during this time.
Check back on Tuesday for a full breakdown of Thursday’s New Moon! ☺
Venus in dynamic, willful Aries comes into a challenging square with Pluto in Capricorn today, adding fire and intensity to our romantic relationships and financial endeavors. This aspect brings emotional intensity and passion, which may border on obsession in some cases. Whenever Venus comes into contact with Pluto our sexual passions are ignited and our romantic encounters can become much more sensual and erotic. Whenever we deal with sex, we are also dealing with power and with Pluto in the mix power struggles in relationships are much more likely. Venus and Pluto are both associated with money, with Venus representing our own resources and Pluto representing other people’s money. Now is a time when past debts can resurface or some sort of power struggle involving shared resources may rear its ugly head. The best use of this energy is to experience it fully and deal with any problems that arise head-on. Hiding from a Pluto transit almost never works and will simply amplify the intensity of the situation when it finally comes to a head.
Thank you all for your love and support and I hope you have a wonderful week! Check back on Thursday for the full weekend forecast. ☺
