We’re facing a serious level of strange as we move into the weekend with an overload of mystical Neptunian energy coloring the day on Friday. With Neptune stationing direct on Thursday into Friday in conjunction with the Piscean moon, the veils are very thin. Many of us may feel a bit unusual, like things are a somehow off. Others who are more sensitive may feel overwhelmed with intuitive visions or messages from the other side. Tapping into this energy can provide useful insight so long as we don’t allow ourselves get in over our heads or fall prey to escapism through fantasy, psychedelic experience, drugs or alcohol. Luckily, we are still coming off of the Sun’s opposition to Saturn, helping to keep us grounded in reality. As we come into Sunday, Mercury will follow suit, opposing Saturn on Sunday and causing us to take a realistic look at our integrity when it comes to the more difficult work we’re being tasked with.
Friday (6/16): Neptune stationed retrograde late Thursday night into the early hours of Friday morning, thinning the veil and adding an eerie stillness to the energy of the day today. While in retrograde, Neptune’s energy becomes more potent and its influence turns inward, heightening our receptivity and intuitive sense. For those who’s personal planets are not directly impacted by this transit, Neptune in retrograde may be experienced as a simple sense of heightened awareness of what’s happening behind the veil. Those of us who have our Sun/Moon/Rising or personal planets sitting anywhere from 11-14 degrees in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) this heightening of our awareness becomes much more obvious and tangible. It is also advisable to avoid escapism through drugs and alcohol when Neptune is in retrograde, especially when it makes contact with our personal planets. Neptune will be moving in retrograde from now until November 22nd, and inner work carries much more importance for all of us during this time.
The Moon in Pisces will make a conjunction to Neptune near the time that it stations, adding an extra layer of watery, emotional confusion to the foggy Piscean energy. It is relatively rare, but certainly not unheard of, to have the Moon conjunct a planet while it stations and this configuration suggests there is an extra special layer of magic, mysticism, and psychic sensitivity we may wish to tap into throughout the day today.
Saturday (6/17): No major planetary aspects today. We enter into the third quarter square of the moon in the watery and intuitive sign of Pisces early this morning before the moon transitions into Aries at 10:53am MST.
The Last Quarter Moon marks a crisis of completion. It is a time of tension between our physical reality and our emotional and intuitive energies. Although it may feel like there is still much to do, we come to a realization that we need to begin to separate ourselves from the work we’ve completed throughout this cycle. We are now called to find a new direction, make appropriate mental and emotional adjustments, and begin reflecting on our intentions for the next lunar cycle.
Sunday (6/18): The Sun comes into sextile with Uranus today, bringing unexpected circumstances that assist us in connecting more deeply to our purpose and the underlying force that motives us to continue working toward success in connection with the physical world. This aspect can bring welcomed, unexpected breaks from our normal routines as well as unusual, but positive messages, insights, and communications. This is a good energy for bringing about a needed change, especially in regards to our attitudes toward success.
Mercury in Gemini comes into a hard opposition with Saturn in Sagittarius today, pitting our thoughts and communications against the cold-hard reality of the burden of responsibility we have willfully taken on. This is a sobering aspect, which can cause our thoughts to be much more somber and for some people this can even bring on a mild bout of depression. This energy is best utilized to re-evaluate our long-term plans and goals and to insure that our decisions are being made from a place of integrity.
Have a beautiful weekend everyone! Be sure to check back on Sunday for the weekday forecast! :)
