This week starts off with a frustrating bang with the conjunction between Mars and Saturn in Capricorn coming exact early Monday morning. This patiently impatient aspect is followed up very quickly by Mercury retrograde coming into square with Mars in Capricorn, dredging up old arguments and heated debates in order to be resolved and released once and for all after Mercury moves direct. With so many challenging Saturn aspects in the mix, this week is all about learning to slow down and to things the RIGHT way, not the fast way.
Monday (4/2): Today is the day when the intense and frustrating conjunction between the two malefic planets, Mars and Saturn, comes exact. Mars and Saturn forming a conjunction brings an impulse to move forward with plans that will only be met with frustration, blockages or lack of energy and enthusiasm to get the job done. This transit may cause some of us to feel irritated or frustrated with the burdens and responsibilities that are preventing forward momentum, while others may feel energetically depleted, mentally exhausted, and emotionally depressed. On either end of the spectrum, the best use of this energy is to make small, sustained efforts toward laying a solid foundation for important plans, by either reining in impulsive, frustrated energies and practicing patience, or doing whatever is possible with the little energy available to get things moving again.
The Moon today is transiting the passionate sign of Scorpio, making only favorable aspects to the Mars/Saturn conjunction as well as Neptune in Pisces, helping to soften the blow of the relatively irritating conjunction between Mars and Saturn.
Tuesday (4/3): No major planetary aspects today. The Moon in Scorpio makes a supportive sextile over to Pluto in Capricorn early this morning, heightening our perceptive abilities and allowing us to dig a bit deeper. The Moon will later make a conjunction to Jupiter in Scorpio, lifting the mood a bit before going Void-of-Course until 11:55pm MST, when it moves into the adventurous sign of Sagittarius.
The moon is considered Void of Course (VOC) during the time between the moon’s last major aspect with another planet in its current sign and the moment it moves into the next sign.Because now is a time when the moon remains un-aspected, our inner world may become much more calm, quiet and clear. The VOC moon is a time when our intuition can become heightened as it is free from outside planetary influences; however, too much mental or physical activity at this time can distort our psychic senses and cause us to take wrong action. This is why when we take action or begin a new project during the VOC moon, things often don't pan out. Likewise, any thoughts we may have or worries we may hold on to are also unlikely to come to fruition and are merely serving as a distraction from the inner quiet brought on by the void. While the VOC moon is a fertile time for receiving insight and inspiration, now is not the time to act. In just a few hours, the moon will change signs, which will allow us to begin bringing to fruition whatever was seeded during this highly intuitive time of calm and contemplation.
Wednesday (4/4): Today retrograde Mercury in Aries squares Mars in Capricorn, dredging up old arguments and heated debates in order to be resolved and released once and for all after Mercury moves direct. This 3-fold aspect last came exact on February 28th, and may bring a replay or revisiting of tense energies that unfolded at that time. People may be quick to make impulsive decisions or to speak without thinking things through throughout the middle portion of this week. Some might find that they are quick to feel angry or lash out, while others may feel more anxious and unsettled under this influence. Arguments and accidents are much more likely throughout this time, so take care to slow down a bit to give yourself time to respond, rather than react, and make sure you don’t rush around too quickly throughout the day. With With Mars still in a close conjunction with Saturn, there may also be a tendency to bottle things up only to have them explode out in an abrasive fashion later on down the line. In this case, a more calm and calculated approach to addressing the issue is what’s needed at this time.
Luckily, the Moon is in the optimistic and expansive sign of Sagittarius today, lightening the mood and putting us in a more optimistic frame of mind with a harmonious trine to Mercury.
Thursday (4/5): With Mercury square Saturn, our thoughts become more serious and our responsibilities may weigh on us more heavily throughout this week. Just as with the rest of these heavy Saturn transits, it is best not to rush into things too quickly under this influence. It may feel difficult to maintain an optimistic mindset at this time, as our mental activity may feel bogged down by our burdens and responsibilities. This transit favors slow, diligent mental work and calculated, pragmatic decision-making.
The Moon in Sagittarius makes a square to Neptune this evening, confusing our intuition and making us a bit more prone to deception, delusion and escapist tendencies. Luckily, the Disseminating or Waning Gibbous phase of the Moon as it makes a harmonious trine to the Sun in Aries today, which helps to lift the energy a bit. The Disseminating or Waning Gibbous phase marks the time when we may harvest the fruits of our labors. It is a time to gather the results of what was created during the lunar cycle so far and to begin to cultivate an understanding of what worked well and what did not. The Disseminating Moon is a phase of creative release, where we begin to relinquish control of the creative process in order to move forward into the cycle that follows.
