There’s a LOT happening in the skies this week with Jupiter turning direct in Scorpio, a grand Earth trine forming between Venus, Uranus and Saturn AND, of course, the main event—a partial Solar Eclipse and New Moon in the nurturing and emotionally-charged sign of Cancer! This Solar Eclipse may pack a bit of a punch for some, with an exact opposition to Pluto bringing depth and intensity to our inner and outer experience. The energy building this week is ripe for deep intimacy and emotional catharsis, the end results being quite positive via the influence of Jupiter stationing, bringing a powerful, fortuitous influence and forming a grand trine with Neptune and the Sun and Moon as part of Thursday’s eclipse.
Monday (7/9): Today Mercury in Leo squares Jupiter, which is almost at a standstill preparing to station in the passionate water sign of Scorpio. This energy brings inflated egos and grandiose plans that may prove impossible to carry out. People are much more prone to exaggeration under this influence, so be wary of invitations and offers that seem too good to be true! While this is a highly optimistic influence, our ideas may become out of tough with reality, ultimately causing us disappointment in the end when the results of our thoughts and communications don’t yield the impressive results we expect.
Venus today moves into the critical, service-oriented sign of Virgo today. In Virgo, Venus expresses love and appreciation through practical acts of service. Now is a good time to notice the little things your partner needs, wants and desires, and to pick up some of the slack when you notice that he or she may be struggling. Under the Venus in Virgo influence, we may become more judgmental of those closest to us, expressing criticism in a way that may feel a bit harsh to others. It’s not that the intentions are bad—it’s exactly the opposite, really. Venus in Virgo helps us to see the flaws in others so we may point them out more easily and be “of service” by helping them to achieve perfection. Just be sure your partner is receptive to your “constructive criticism” prior to pointing out such things.

The Moon today will go Void-of-Course in Taurus at 9:09am MST until it moves into the more lively sign of Gemini at 9:58am.
The moon’s transit through Gemini is a time of heightened emotional intelligence, making it one of the best times to socialize. Activities such as throwing parties, attending social events, sending cards, emails, and letters, connecting with old friends, and doing things that are spontaneous and playful are favored at this time. Movement is key, as curious Gemini likes to move quickly from one topic to the next. This moon placement also favors intellectual pursuits such as research, writing, journalism, and all other activities requiring us to think on our feet. The moon in Gemini is an excellent time to communicate creatively. It is also a time when our thoughts become more connected with our emotions, making it more difficult to discern between what we think and what we feel. Emotional bonds can be strengthened through communication making this is a great time to connect with people in the community, as well as siblings, cousins and extended family members. A family reunion planned during this time would go over quite well! Gemini is an air sign and its energy does tend to feel a bit scattered. For some, there is a danger of becoming flaky and manipulative during this time.
The Moon will make a trine to Mars late tonight, igniting our passions and providing the motivation to move forward with important plans, or to act on intuitive insights or important communications that have come about throughout the day today.
Tuesday (7/10): Jupiter Stations to move direct today at 10:02am MST! With Jupiter so strong in the skies, today (and the few days before/after) has the potential to bring huge benefits and positive reversals of fortune, especially for those with their Sun, Moon, Rising or personal planets near 13 degrees in the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces). While at first it may seem that luck, expansion and optimism are at a standstill, the events that transpire throughout this time may have lasting results that promote growth and good fortune for years to come! While growth during a Jupiter retrograde period is more introspective and internalized (think moral, religious growth and expansion of values, and deeply held beliefs), Jupiter’s direct motion brings physical growth and expansion in the area of life being impacted in your chart. If you’ve been feeling a lull in the forward momentum in your life, this could be just the jump-start needed to start moving in the right direction once again!
The Moon in Gemini makes a supportive sextile to Mercury in Leo early this morning, favoring playful, emotionally-driven communication. Later this afternoon the Moon comes into a challenging square with Neptune in Pisces, bringing a brief bought of confusion and disillusionment prior to going Void-of-Course in Gemini at 1:00pm MST. The Moon will remain Void-of-Course for the remainder of the day. Combining this energy with the dark phase of the Moon, this time is best utilized for introspection and intention-seeding for the lunar month ahead.
Wednesday (7/11): The Moon moves into the intuitive, nurturing sign of Cancer where it will remain for the next 2.5 days, extending into tomorrow’s New Moon and Partial Solar Eclipse. The moon rules the sign of Cancer and is therefore considered to be “at home” while transiting this sign. This differs from exaltation in that the energy of the moon closely matches its expression through the sign of Cancer. The moon in Cancer is very intuitive, nurturing, and emotional. This is a time when people become more empathic and emotions can be felt very deeply. Self-care becomes important during this time and people tend to retreat to the home to engage in activities that allow them to feel safe, comfortable and cared-for. People may be more drawn to familiarity and less willing to step outside of their comfort zones. Cancer is the sign of the home and real estate, so related activities including purchasing and renovating a home are favored at this time. Deep emotional bonds are also emphasized, making the moon’s transit through Cancer a time when more importance may be placed on family ties, especially connection with the mother.
The Moon will make positive aspects to Venus and Uranus this afternoon, supporting us in utilizing our intuition to make positive changes in relationships (an energy further enhanced by Venus making a trine with Uranus later this evening). The Moon will make an opposition to Saturn in the evening hours, causing us to feel a bit more somber and serious later in the day.
Venus in Virgo makes a powerful trine aspect to Uranus in Taurus, bringing powerful changes in relationships and finances as well as issues involving pleasure and self-worth. Now is a time to try something new with a close friend or romantic partner, or to take a new, more innovative approach to dealing with money. It is an excellent day to indulge in something unique, yet pleasurable— maybe a new form of self-care that you’ve been thinking of trying out that’s a bit outside the box. Doing so with a partner can make it that much more exciting AND fulfilling.
Thursday (7/12): Today is the big day! A partial Solar Eclipse in the intuitive, creative and emotionally-driven sign of Cancer will be occurring late this evening, just before the Moon goes Void-of-Course at 7:48pm MST. This eclipse is occurring in exact opposition to Pluto in Capricorn, drudging up the potential for transformative experiences, emotional catharsis and power struggles with those in positions of perceived authority. Whatever comes up for you surrounding this eclipse (the effects last 2 at least weeks before and after) is a precursor to the energy that will dominate 2019 into 2020 with the North Node shifting signs and the subsequent eclipses occurring in Cancer and Capricorn. This is a time of transformation and powerful new beginnings that will benefit the water signs the most! This eclipse is the weakest of the three that will be occurring this Eclipse Season, so the effects my be perceived as being more subtle. That being said, this will also be the most beneficial of all three eclipses, occurring as part of a grand trine in water and star formation in the skies!
Have a beautiful week! Be sure to check back on Thursday for the weekend forecast! :)
